Fun Things to Do in New Orleans
紐奧良是美國南方的大港, 也是有名的觀光聖地, 想知道去紐奧良可以作些
什麼活動嗎? 看看我一個來自當地的美國人寫給我的介紹.
* ACME OYSTER HOUSE: Located in the French Quarter, fun, casual atmosphere.
Not too expensive. Ask for Crawfish, if they don't have them, get gumbo, jumbalaya,
or seafood po-boys+ raw oysters. Ask the hotel how to get there.
*PAT O'BRIEN'S: Located in French Quarter off of Bourbon St. A real famous bar.
Go on a pretty day and ask to sit on the patio. Ask anyone in New Orleans for
direction, everyone knows how to get there!
*Camellia Grill: Located on corner of St. Charles and Carollton (uptown). Great
Food, Really casual (dinner-like atmosphere) A fun thing to do is to take the street
car (trolley) up St. Charles Ave. to get there. St. Charles goes through the heart
of the Garden district (which is a really pretty area of town) and its a great way
to see the city.
*Audubon Park: while you're on the street car, you may want to stop here. It's
really pretty and right on St. Charles. Get off the street car at Tulane university,
it's across the street.
*Riverwalk Shopping Center: A neat place to go. It's right on the mouth of the
Mississippi River. You can walk around the mall+ around the park outside.
* Aquarium of the Americas: Near the riverwalk (walking distance, just have
someone point you in the right direction). It's a great aqarium w/ an IMAX
theatre. Also on a pretty day it's fun to take the ferry boat from the aquarium
to the Audubon Zoo if you have time.
*Cafe Du Monde: Awesome place for breakfast (Get Beignets+ Cafe Au Lait)
It's open all night if you get hungry after going out. If you go for breakfast, it's
across the street from some historic buildings! Jackson Square, the Cabildo.
There is a park and there are artists around that area-> really fun. It's also
right on the river.
*French Market: Cool flea market on the river. Fun place to walk around
and for souvineirs and fresh fruit and vegetables.
The two places above are close to each other, If I were you, I would go
on Sunday morning for the breakfast, then walk around the Jackson
Square and then to the French Market!
Some other nice resturants:
Nola: Pretty expensive and dressy, but the food is incredible.
Brennans: Very expensive, but they are famous for breakfast, it's delicious.
Red Fish Grill: I've never been here, but I've heard that it's good.
You can ask the information desk at the hotel how to find any of these
places, they are all pretty easy to get to. Be very careful--especially at
night! Don't try to go uptown at night unless you're in a cab--it's easy to
get lost and it's very dangerous! Also, ask the hotel about a walking tour
of French Quarter, that is always fun. Walking around the French Quarter
at night is really fun too. There are always a lot of crazy people around,
however, try to stay on or near Bourbon, Royal and Decatur St. Don't go
off on any dark side street--> you can get mugged!
